Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The City of Marquette Community Services Department is looking to hear from residents as they develop the latest Parks & Recreation master plan.

Andrew MacIver, Assistant Director of Community Services for Marquette, joined the Sunny Morning Show this week to talk about how the department is gathering the public input to create the five-year plan.

MacIver said a survey has been mailed to a random sample of Marquette residents that is asking questions about the city’s parks and recreational facilities and what is going well with them and what could be improved.

He added that there is a significant component that also asks about how the parks and other facilities are used by individuals and groups in the city, and he encouraged all who have received such a survey to fill it out and return it.

MacIver said another major part of the process is the planned holding of a pair of public forums where residents will be able to attend to voice their opinions.

He said those meetings have not been scheduled yet, but he anticipates they will be held sometime within the next month or so.
