Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Youth Police Academy Seeking Applicants

Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Youth Police Academy is currently looking for area youth to sign up and get involved.

Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the program.

Zyburt said the Academy is a 16-hour block of instruction designed to give the community a better working knowledge of law enforcement operations, policies, and procedures.

He explained it consists of a series of comprehensive classes, covering a different area of law enforcement operations each week, with Sheriff Deputies, Police Officers, and Supervisors providing the instruction.

Zyburt said the program is open to anyone in grades 7-12, and the first class will be held November 6, 2018.
