Closings and Cancellations for Monday, February 4, 2019

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Some tricky weather conditions around the region this morning.  The National Weather Service in Negaunee Township says an Ice Storm Warning is posted for Marquette, Alger, Dickinson, Menominee and Delta counties until 7:00 p.m. eastern.

Significant icing and moderate to heavy freezing rain and sleet are expected. Total ice accumulations of a quarter up to a half inch expected in some areas. Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice.

Temperatures will drop into the teens and single digits across the region today, and travel is not recommended.  A Winter Storm Warning is also in effect in Ontonagon, Baraga and Southern Houghton counties until 1:00 a.m. eastern tomorrow.  Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of up to one quarter of an inch  is expected.

CAAM Meals on Wheels & Senior Dining canceled for today in Marquette & Alger Counties.
Community Action Alger-Marquette offices are closed.
Catholic Social Services has closed their Marquette & Escanaba offices.
Women’s Center in Marquette has closed all locations.
NorthCare Network in Marquette is closed for the day.
