Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An emergency response full scale exercise is being held this Saturday at Sawyer International Airport.

Teresa Schwalbach, Emergency Management Coordinator for Marquette County, and Alyson Sundberg, Director of Risk Management and Emergency Services at UP Health System Marquette, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike recently to share the details of the exercise.

Schwalbach said the exercise will simulate a major plane crash at the airport and will test the response of crews both at the airports as well as first responders.

Sundberg said the exercise will then continue to both UP Health System Marquette and Ishpeming to test the Emergency Room staffs at the hospitals.

They added that volunteers are still needed to portray accident victims, and you must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer.
