Negaunee, Michigan – July 31, 2019 – I have some news I need to share.
I am leaving The Sunny Morning Show and Great Lakes Radio as of 2PM today, July 31.
For the last four months, my husband, Cody, has been working downstate in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a very successful solar company. He has quickly worked his way up the ranks to the point where a seasonal job turned into a full-time, year-round offer that we as a family simply could not turn down.
It is definitely bittersweet, as I will sincerely miss my coworkers, the career I’ve built in the Upper Peninsula, family and friends, the Upper Peninsula itself, and YOU, loyal listeners and readers!
However, I know in my heart this is the right decision for my family.
My son Holden and I will be moving to be with Cody the week of August 5th. Where I land in my career in Grand Rapids is yet to be seen, but I have faith that wherever I end up is where I’m supposed to be!

Kelsey, I am so shocked this morning to hear your news and so saddened to hear that you’re leaving. I love you with Walt on the morning show. I have been a listener for years. I just love your sunny humor, all your Holdenstories, Richard the deer stories, and your opinions women’s rights and just the right thing to do that people need to do. I know you’re going to love Grand Rapids. More craft brewries than you can shake a strand of hops at!! I am from just north of GR, and live in Lake Linden. I have family and friends in Coopersville, Rockford, Sparta, and Muskegon. I know you will be very successful and have a great time there but so going to miss you!! Wish you the best!!
