Gwinn, Michigan–

An electric atmosphere in Gwinn tonight as the Negaunee Miners started the game against the Modeltowners by pushing the ball.  The Miners started to get into the foul trouble late in the first though but were still able keep a good lead on the Modeltowners.

First quarter:

Negaunee: 15       Gwinn: 9

Foul trouble continued for both teams as the foul filled first half went on, but the Miners were able to get back to back three pointers which had them pull away and build up a ten point lead going into halftime.

Halftime score:

Negaunee: 31       Gwinn: 21

The Negaunee Miners defense stiffened up starting the second quarter holding the Modeltowners to only five points for the quarter as they extended their lead.

Third quarter:

Negaunee: 43       Gwinn: 26

The Miners by the fourth quarter despite foul trouble, kept their offense running as they were able to pile on twenty one points to keep the lead and the victory.

The Negaunee Miners continue on to the Regionals Monday where they go to Escanaba to play Harbor Springs.  Tip-off is 6 PM and Pre-game 5:30 PM right here on Sunny 101.9 WKQS.
