Houghton, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – One woman was injured in a boating accident yesterday evening in Houghton County.
The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. when a 16-foot boat, operated by 55-year-old Kevin Geshel of Painesdale, became lodged under the end of a private dock at a residence on the Portage Canal in Stanton Township.
Geshel was attempting to dock the boat when the accident happened.
53-year-old Lori Geshel was injured and was later airlifted to UP Health System Marquette for treatment.
The accident is under investigation by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.
There is no word on the woman’s condition at this time.
