Houghton, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan Tech in Houghton has entered into a community health partnership with the Portage Health Foundation.
MTU President Glenn Mroz says the partnership combines the missions of both organizations as well as their existing strengths and financial resources to help improve health in the community.
The partnership includes three endowed professorships at MTU, health research and scholarships, internships and fellowships.
Portage Health Foundation will invest $2.5 million over five years, with Tech investing approximately $5 million.
The partnership was announced yesterday at the University’s Board of Trustees meeting on campus.
