Detroit area soldier killed

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. flags in Michigan to be lowered to half-staff tomorrow in honor of a Detroit-area soldier killed in Afghanistan.

First lieutenant Todd Lambka of Fraser died August 1st from injuries sustained when a bomb exploded in Paktika Province.

The 25-year-old Lambka was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 28th Infantry Regiment in the 4th Infantry Brigade combat team of the 1st Infantry Division, in Fort Riley, Kansas.

Flags should be returned to full-staff on Thursday.
