MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The former Michigan woman who was sexually assaulted in the U.P. while rowing the perimeter of Lake Michigan for charity has completed her 1,500-mile trip.

Battle Creek native Jenn Gibbons docked her boat yesterday at the Chicago Yacht Club.  The 27-year old Gibbons, who now lives in Chicago, was attacked July 22nd when a man boarded her boat as she slept near Mueller Township in Schoolcraft County. Michigan State Police are still looking for the suspect.

After the attack, Gibbons traveled to Muskegon by bike in the company of security and resumed her trip with a companion.  The Michigan State University graduate and former crew team member reportedly raised $113,000 for her charity that helps breast cancer survivors rehabilitate through rowing.

About $10,000 was raised in one week after the attack.
