General Motors recall

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – General Motors is recalling nearly 250,000 mid-size SUVs in 20 states and the District of Columbia because of a side door power lock failure that could lead to fires.

GM says fluid could get inside the driver’s door module and cause corrosion, which could short out the circuit board. The automaker says in rare instances, the short may cause overheating and possibly a fire.

No known crashes or injuries have been reported because of the issue.  The recall also includes another 269,000 vehicles worldwide.
