Marquette Man Arraigned After Stabbing Incident

Marquette man charged with felonious assault

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette man has been charged with felonious assault in connection with a stabbing that occurred late Friday in the City of Marquette.

The incident occurred at the Long Shot Saloon at 149 West Baraga Avenue around 10:30 p.m.  Police found a 42-year-old man inside the bar with multiple stab wounds.

31-year-old James Earl Christensen fled the scene but was tracked down shortly after and was arrested.  He was taken to the Marquette County Jail, while the victim was treated and released at Marquette General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Christensen was arraigned yesterday on charges of felonious assault and assault with a dangerous weapon and remains lodged at the County Jail.
