    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Long time City of Marquette Fire Chief Tom Belt has announced plans to retire.

    Belt, who has served as Marquette’s Fire Chief for over 2 decades says he will step down at the end of this year.

    In a statement yesterday, Belt said after over 40 years as a firefighter and 21 years as Chief, it has been an honor to have served the city’s residents.

    Reports say Ian Davis, the city’s current Fire Inspector has been recommended Belt’s successor.
