Remembering 9/11

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – On this 11th anniversary of 9/11, a Twin Towers memorial will be dedicated tonight in Hermansville.

It includes two pieces of the World Trade Center.  Organizer Bud Marsh says the pieces will be escorted to the site of the memorial by Patriot Guard Riders from throughout the U.P.

Hermansville is one of 43 communities in Michigan to receive pieces of the World Trade Center, and is the only one in the U.P.  Marsh says they still hope to raise $20,000 for a building to house the memorial.

Tonight’s ceremony begins at 6 p.m. central time.
