Snyder Appoints U.P. Woman to Michigan Travel Commission

Governor Snyder appointed U.P. woman to Michigan Travel Commission

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has appointed an Upper Peninsula woman to the Michigan Travel Commission.

Julie Sprenger, owner and president of Laurium Manor Inn and Sprenger Enterprises in Laurium in the Keweenaw Peninsula, will be responsible for working with a variety of associations, nonprofit corporations and organizations to develop, promote and enhance Michigan’s travel and tourism, the state’s second largest industry.

The Michigan Travel Commission is housed within Michigan’s Economic Development Corporation.

Sprenger brings 23 years experience in Michigan lodging and tourism to the commission. She is a current member and a past president of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula Travel & Recreation Association or UPTRA, a directorship she has served for 15 years.
