Snyder appoints U.P. man to Arts and Cultural council

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has appointed an Upper Michigan man to serve on the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

Ritch Branstrom, of Rapid River has been named to the 15-member council, housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.  The Council facilitates artistic, creative and cultural activity to support Michigan’s quality of life and economic vitality.

Branstrom is owner and operator of the Rapid River-based adhocWORKshop, where he specializes in artwork created with local and natural resources. He holds a bachelor’s degree in product design and a master’s degree in design and community college education, both from Northern Michigan University.

Branstrom will serve a three-year term that expires on September 1-st 2015.
