Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission has passed a trio of motions allowing for the development a park in north Marquette.

At their regular meeting last night, Commissioners approved agreements for the purchase, development and conservation easements for a parcel of land north from Hawley Street to the Dead River Bridge.

The project is based on a proposal to create a park that will be named the Clark Lambros Park in memory of a well-known Marquette business owner who passed away in 2012.

The acquisition package will now be sent for review in Lansing and groundbreaking is hoped to happen yet this fall.
