Hikers Found Successfully After Becoming Lost on Hogsback Mountain

Two hikers called police after becoming lost on Hogsback Mountain in Marquette TownshipMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out to Hogsback Mountain in Marquette Township last night on a report of two missing hikers.

The call came in from Central Dispatch around 7:30 p.m. when the two hikers, 19-year-old Steven Claucherty of Royal Oak and 18-year-old Melinda Fitaian of Birmingham, became lost on their way back down the mountain in the dark.

The pair were located by Deputies and Search and Rescue crews after a search of about 90 minutes.

The hikers were uninjured and were escorted out of the woods safely.
