MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Northern Michigan University’s Board of Trustees approved a previously ratified contract for the Administrative/Professional union (UAW 2178).
Trustees held a special meeting late last week via conference call to finalize the agreement. The union voted 106-6 in favor of the contract in late September. The union represents 178 employees at the University.
The agreement features base salary increases of 2 percent in the first and third years and a 2.25 percent increase in the second year. There is also a $500 base increase for each employee in year one and the union will shift to a new health care plan that includes adjustments to co-pays and annual deductibles.
