Alston, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a traffic accident Saturday afternoon in Laird Township.

The accident happened in Alston at the intersection of M-38 and North Laird Heights Road.

A vehicle operated by a 24-year-old Ann Arbor man went out of control on M-38, left the roadway and hit a parked truck in a nearby yard.

The driver sustained minor injuries while three passengers in the vehicle were hospitalized.

Reports say two were treated and released while one was transferred to UP Health System – Marquette.

Authorities do not believe alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the crash, and no names have been released.
