Marquette County Sex Offender Sweep Complete

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities have identified 10 registered sex offenders in Marquette County who failed to comply with the state’s address reporting law.

    State Police, along with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming, Chocolay and Forsyth Township Police Departments and NMU Public Safety just concluded a two month address verification sweep of convicted sex offenders in the county.

    10 offenders were identified who have failed to report the address change after moving and arrest warrants have been requested.

    All registered sex offenders must also report any change of name, address, employment and other identifiers within three business days of any change.

    Failure to do so is four-year felony.
