MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Unemployed workers in Michigan can still claim their jobless benefits even though state offices are closed today and tomorrow for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Unemployment Insurance Agency says Michigan’s automated response voice interactive network, known as MARVIN, is available through Saturday.
Officials say because of the holiday, there may be a one or two day delay before the benefits are either directly deposited into the bank accounts or loaded onto the debit cards of unemployed workers.
MARVIN is available to users anytime during their reporting week from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on most Saturdays.
It is also available online to those with free online web accounts at michigan.gov/uia.
