UPDATE – Marquette Township Fire Claims One

Fire in Marquette Township claims one lifeMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)State Police from the Negaunee Post have released the name of the victim killed in a fire early Thursday morning in Marquette Township.

Troopers say the body of 37-year-old Amy Cook was found inside a mobile home at 2262 Moran Street that was destroyed by the fire.

The fire was called in at 5:12 a.m. and after it was put out, firefighters discovered Cook’s body inside the structure.  Police say she was the primary resident at the home.  An autopsy is being conducted by the Marquette County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

State Police Fire Investigators are continuing to  work to determine the cause of the fire.
