Public welcome to City of Marquette meeting discussing future of Tourist ParkMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The City of Marquette is holding a meeting tonight discussing the future of one of the city’s most popular parks.

The city is inviting all interested community members in the land use planning process for Tourist Park. The plan will address all aspects of the public space, beach front, and campground at the park.

Citizens are encouraged to attend a community meeting and draft plan presentation tonight from 6-8 p.m., at the Citizens Forum located at Lakeview Arena at 401 E. Fair Ave.  There will be a short presentation at 6 p.m., followed by community discussion.

The City is also reminding residents that Winter tax bills totaling $1.4 million were mailed to Marquette City property owners Friday. The tax collection period has begun and payments are accepted at the City Treasurer’s office without penalty through February 14, 2013.
