Two Overdue Hunters Found Safe
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Two overdue hunters were found safe and sound early Saturday by Troopers from the Wakefield Post in Ontonagon County.
State Police were called out just before midnight on Friday on the report of the hunters being overdue. They were hunting in the Carp Lake Township area near Silver City.
Troopers were able to track the men about one-and-a-half miles into the woods and found them in good condition. The men had taken a deer, but their flashlights failed after they tracked the deer down. The men had built a fire and were prepared to spend the night, planning to walk out after sunrise.
The men walked out of the woods with Troopers safely.
