Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission will be taking up a controversial rate increase proposal from the Marquette Board of Light & Power tonight.
The Commission will be taking action on a BLP proposal to build a multi-million dollar energy center in the city that will raise rates for customers by 30-percent in it’s first year.
A work session with commissioners and the BLP will be held at 5:15 p.m. and the Commission will vote on the plan at their regular meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Both meetings are open to the public and will be held at Marquette City Hall.
