UPDATE – Investigation into Marquette Township Fire Killing One

Marquette Township fire updateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)State Police at the Negaunee Post have released an update on the investigation into a fatal structure fire that happened last Thursday in Marquette Township.

According to a statement released this morning, investigators have determined the fire to be accidental and it originated in the kitchen area.  The early morning fire claimed the life of 37-year-old Amy Cook, who was the primary resident of the home.

State Police say there were no signs of foul play discovered during the investigation, and the cause of death is pending toxicology reports from the Marquette County Medical Examiner.
