MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Deputies were called out to a two-vehicle accident yesterday in Republic Township.
Deputies say a westbound Ford pickup truck, driven by a 40-year-old Republic man, disregarded a stop sign and pulled out onto M-95 from River Road into the path of a northbound tractor trailer, driven by a 61-year-old Ashland, WI man.
The tractor trailer’s fuel tank was ruptured in the crash causing a diesel fuel spill on the highway. The spill was cleaned up by Trimedia Environmental & Engineering.
The driver of the pickup truck refused medical treatment and was cited for failing to stop at the stop sign. No names have been released.
