Election Day

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – It’s election day in Michigan.  There are no statewide ballot issues, but local issues and races will be decided in many areas.

In the City of Marquette, voters will be selecting two members of the City Commission as well as two members of the Board of Light & Power.

Also, voters will be deciding the fate of various local ballot proposals dealing with school districts, municipailties and libraries.

In two separate races being watched around the state, former State Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat are seeking to regain their seats after Courser resigned and Gamrat was expelled over a sex scandal.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.
