Marquette County Fire Destroys Home

Fire in Marquette CountyMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Fire destroyed a home in Marquette County yesterday evening.

The Chocolay Township, Negaunee Township, Sands Township and Marquette County 131 fire departments were all called out to 930 County Road 480 at 6:15 Tuesday evening.

Arriving on scene, the home was engulfed in flames reaching 50 feet in the air. A police officer on the scene said ammunition in the home was a danger.

One person in the home was able to get out, but did sustained injuries. That person was able to drive to the hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
