Flu Numbers Up in One Week
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The number of reported cases of the flu in Michigan jumped this week, according to state health officials.
The Michigan Department of Community Health reports 63 cases this week compared to just 34 cases one week ago. The majority of the flu cases are reported in the southwest portion of the state.
The flu bug struck areas in the Upper Peninsula so hard that schools were closed for three days. Officials are urging everyone six months and older to get a flu shot, especially those with health complications like asthma, diabetes, or heart disease.
