MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Wakefield Post responded to a snowmobile accident in Ontonagon County Saturday night.
Troopers say the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Lake Gogebic when a 34-year-old woman from Iowa was thrown from her machine while crossing the lake. The woman was taken to Aspirus Grandview Hospital and was later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau for further treatment.
The cause of the crash has not been determined and remains under investigation. No name has been released.
