MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A technology center with affiliate offices around the state, including Marquette has received a million dollar federal grant to help small and medium-sized manufacturers throughout the state expand and create new high-tech jobs.
The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center is headquartered in downstate Plymouth with affiliate offices in Grand Rapids, Marquette, Saginaw, and Traverse City. The center is the Michigan affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
The group is a network of centers that assist small and medium-sized manufacturers in creating new manufacturing jobs and expand into new markets. The $1,134,001 grant was awarded through the Department of Commerce and will fund the center from January 1, to June 30, 2013.
