Marquette City Fire Department warning people to stay off ice at Tourist ParkMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Marquette City Fire Department is warning people about unstable ice conditions on the lake at Tourist Park.

The Department has received reports of people walking on the ice at the park located in north Marquette and they are telling the public the ice is not stable and should be avoided.

Department officials say the lake is actually a moving body of water used for power generation, and may move and fluctuate in depth.  That will create unstable and dangerous ice conditions and people should use extreme caution along the lake and stay off of the ice.
