Manistique, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Manistique man who plead guilty to murder charges in connection with the death of three people in Schoolcraft County has been sentenced to life in prison.

47-year-old Garry Cordell was sentenced today on two counts of first degree murder and one count of felony murder for the deaths of 42-year-old Jody Hutchinson, 31-year-old Carrie Nelson and 25-year-old Heather Aldrich.

Their bodies were found in a burned out vehicle in April in Schoolcraft County’s Doyle Township.

Cordell was facing 12 felony charges in the case prior to pleading guilty recently to the three murder charges.

Cordell will not be eligible for parole.
