Lost Hunter Located Safely In Iron County

    Iron River, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Iron Mountain Post report finding a lost hunter Iron County.

    The man, 69-year-old Francis Nenning of Iron River, called 9-1-1 yesterday before noon to say he had gotten lost in the woods after leaving his camp on Monday.

    He had had spent the night in the woods and was experiencing cold exposure symptoms.

    A Trooper arrived on the scene and entered the woods in the area that Nenning described near his camp.

    After fording three creeks and the Iron River on foot, Nenning was located by the Trooper about two miles from his camp in a heavily wooded area.

    Nennig had some difficulty walking and was assisted out of the woods by the trooper.

    He was taken to Aspirus Hospital in Iron River and treated for exposure.
