Local Emergency Personnel Take Part Training Exercise in Marquette

Local emergency personnel take part in training exercise in MarquetteMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Area firefighters, police, EMS and hospital personnel took part in a hazardous materials training exercise this morning in Marquette.

The exercise was held at the Power Station #4 on Powder Mill Road in Marquette.  The exercise included the Michigan National Guard Civil Support Team out of downstate Battle Creek. The team specializes in hazardous material and weapons of mass destruction containment and  support.

Organizers of the training say the exercise served as a good opportunity for local first responders to interact and learn from this specialized unit in action.
