Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Rapidly changing weather conditions yesterday evening were factors in several traffic accidents in Marquette County.
State Police at the Negaunee Post say they received dozens of 9-1-1 calls about accidents as wintry conditions caused whiteouts and freezing road surfaces.
Police responded to at least 24 traffic crashes in a two-hour period around the county.
In Ely Township there were several crashes reported involving a total of nine vehicles, and eight crashes happened in Negaunee Township between Brickyard Road and Midway Drive.
State Police are reminding motorists to drive carefully as winter weather approaches.
