Lansing, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has signed into law a measure authored by an Upper Michigan lawmaker the establishes a consolidated March election date in the state.

House Bill 4904, sponsored by State Representative Ed McBroom, clarifies the filing deadlines for local candidates and ballot questions and classifies the Michigan presidential primary election as a regular election instead of a special election.

The bill was approved with bipartisan support in both chambers.
