Houghton County, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Houghton County man has been arrested on a felony counterfeiting charge.
26-year-old Nicholas Edwards of Hancock was arrested after authorities investigated a report of suspected counterfeit money passed at a Copper Country business on Sunday.
Police searched a residence in Hancock and seized large amount of counterfeit money.
Edwards was arraigned in Houghton County District Court on one count of Counterfeiting/Possession of Coins, which is punishable by up to life in prison.
He was lodged in the Houghton County Jail and faces a preliminary exam on December 14th.
