Snyder met with supporters on re-election campaign

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Governor Rick Snyder privately met with campaign supporters in Grand Rapids last week, to begin to lay the groundwork for a re-election bid in 2014.

Reports say the Governor has set a campaign war chest goal of 15 million dollars.  The Governor has not been interested in seeking or using Political Action Committee dollars. Last Friday’s meeting included major donors from the west side of the state.

The Governor has not set a timeline for a formal announcement, although there was discussion about two of the Governor’s possible opponents, current State Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer, and former Congressman, State Senator and State Representative Mark Schauer.
