Ford Motor Company Bringing Jobs Back to U.S.

    Great Lakes Radio NewsMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Ford Motor Company is bringing more production work back to the United States.

    The Dearborn-based automaker is investing nearly $200 million in its Cleveland Engine Plant in preparation for production of the two-liter EcoBoost engine which is slated to begin late next year.

    Plant Manager Charlie Binger says some of the 450 new jobs will involve new hires. The plant, which was at risk of closing a few years ago, currently builds the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a 3.7-liter V8.

    Ford says it’s now more than halfway to its goal of adding 12,000 hourly jobs in the U.S. by 2015.
