MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The winner of a recent Mega Millions jackpot in Michigan is a great grandmother from Houghton County and she went to Lansing yesterday to pick up her winnings.
Judy Juntunen of Atlantic Mine was the sole winner of the February 5 Mega Millions jackpot of $19 million.
Juntunen, who was born and raised in the U.P., said her first purchase would be a new car, “one that will go through the snow better than what I have now.” Juntunen elected to take the $13.9 million cash value of the jackpot and after taxes, netted $9.8 million.
