Three Vehicle Accident at South Marquette Intersection

Great Lakes Radio NewsMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Ishpeming City Police responded to a three-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon at the intersection of US-41 and Lakeshore Drive.

The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. when a northbound Ford Explorer, driven by a 23-year-old Ishpeming woman, on Lakeshore failed to stop at a red light and struck a westbound Chevy Cavalier, driven by a 17-year-old Ishpeming male.

The impact knocked the Cavalier into a Buick Rendezvous, driven by a 56-year-old Champion woman, that was stopped at the red light.

Two people sought medical treatment at Bell Hospital and the driver of the Ford Explorer was ticketed for disregarding the red light.

No names have been released by police.
