Public Hearing Tonight on Air Quality in Yellow Dog Plains
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is hosting a public hearing this evening in Marquette.
The meeting is being held in response to Rio Tinto’s proposed changes to their Eagle Mine permit dealing with air quality on the Yellow Dog Plains.
The hearing starts at 5 p.m. in the Michigan/Huron Rooms at the Northern Michigan University Don H. Bottum University Center in Marquette.
An informational session begins at 5 p.m. with Q&A at 6:30p.m. and public comment period at 7 p.m. Public comments may also be submitted for review using the MDEQ’s website before the March 18 deadline.
