Winter Storm Warnings Continue

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Winter storm warnings remain in effect for Ontonagon, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Houghton and Baraga counties until 8 p.m. today and Alger, Luce and Northern Schoolcraft counties through 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Snow totals in the eastern U.P. by early Thursday will have the greatest accumulations north of M-28 and east of Munising. Expect snow accumulations of up to 2 feet in the western U.P. over the higher terrain south of Houghton and west of Baraga.

Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph through this evening will create areas of blowing snow, especially in open areas near Lake Superior.
