One Arraigned, One Waiting in Alger County Armed Robbery Case
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police say two suspects have been arrested in connection with a recent armed robbery and home invasion in Alger County.
The incident occurred last week at a residence on County Road 440 in AuTrain Township. 19-year-old Allen Miron was beaten by armed intruders who broke into his home, attacked and robbed him and stole several items from the residence.
29-year-old Richard Anthony VanPelt and a 20-year-old woman, both from downstate Bay City, were arrested on Tuesday.
VanPelt was arraigned yesterday on charges of armed robbery, 1st degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. He is lodged in the Alger County Jail, and the woman is expected to be arraigned on charges of 1st degree home invasion and armed robbery later today.
All charges in the case are felonies punishable by up to life in prison.
