Names Released in Accident that Leaves One Escanaba Man Dead

    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The identification of the person killed in an accident involving two passenger vehicles and a semi truck has been released.

    Thomas Swift, 73, of Escanaba was killed in the accident that occurred Wednesday just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of US-2/41 and M-35 and South Hill Road in Gladstone.

    Two others were injured in the accident. Swift’s wife was taken to OSF St. Francis and the transferred to Marquette General Hospital and is listed in serious condition. The driver of the other passenger vehicle, Joyce Scheriff, 72, was taken to OSF St. Francis where she is listed in stable condition.

    The driver of the semi truck, Harley Durocher, 24, was not injured in the accident.

    The accident remains under investigation by the Gladstone Public Safety Department.
