MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Fire Department investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at the Upper Peninsula Medical Center yesterday.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 7:50 a.m. The fire was located in a section of the facility’s record storage area in the basement and was extinguished quickly by firefighters.
Extensive smoke filled areas of the building and was the reason for the evacuation. No injuries were reported and the Fire Department cleared the scene around 11:30 a.m. after forcing the smoke out of the building.
