Mackinac Bridge Blue for Autism

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Mackinac Bridge will be turning blue as part of an autism-awareness campaign.

“Light It Blue Michigan” will mean the Mighty Mac will feature blue lights each night during April, beginning tonight.

The Mackinac Bridge Authority and the Autistic Children’s Treatment Network will host a special public bridge-viewing ceremony  at 6 p.m. at the Kewadin Casino in St. Ignace. Lt. Governor Brian Calley, whose young daughter suffers from autism, is expected to speak at the event.

The autism-awareness campaign was launched by Corner Pieces, a non-profit organization based in Sault Ste. Marie, dedicated to improving the well being of children and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
